Job Description
Safety, Health & Environment Management
Contribute towards a culture of ?Safety and Health above all else? and environmental responsibility by
? implementing SH&E policy, procedures and legislative requirements
? monitoring SH&E performance within area of responsibility
? demonstrating commitment to SH&E through, personal example, leadership and participation in monitoring of established working practices
? ensuring all staff and contractors are appropriately trained and inducted into company SH&E standards and comply with company SH&E procedures
? providing training and direction to team members in relation to safety and health, ensuring that correct equipment is used and, where appropriate, taking corrective action to ensure company SH&E standards are met
? ensuring emergency procedures are in place
? holding regular meetings addressing safety standards and issues
? creating and communicating safe work method statements and undertaking risk analysis
? All staff and contractors within area of responsibility comply with SH&E standards and procedures.
? Reduced frequency of injuries or incidents within area of responsibility
Project Delivery
Contribute to the delivery of project on time and within budget through:
? continuously oversee work, analyse production methods and production performance
? monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency, taking appropriate correct action where necessary
? assessing activities, ensuring a balance between cost and production to meet objectives and time constrictions
? understanding contractual obligations of company and subcontractors
? Project delivered to budget
? Contract obligations met
Subcontractor / Direct Labour Management
Ensure subcontractors are managed in an effective and responsive manner to achieve project objectives, through:
? analysing tasks and selecting appropriate resources in conjunction with the project engineer
? coordinating subcontractor tasks, ensuring compliance with company and work and safety standards
? monitoring subcontractors? performance to ensure project plans and milestones are met
? communicating with and giving clear direction to subcontractors in relation to company expectations
? Project plans and milestones met
? Appropriate resources deployed in a timely fashion
Quality / Standards
Ensure project standards and quality are achieved through:
? monitoring adherence to safe work method statements and undertaking risk analysis of same
? ensuring plant and equipment are operating in an optimal and safe fashion
? clearly explaining work practices, standards and expectations to team members
? continuously seeking methods to improve and streamline operations
? monitoring quality output of work team and taking appropriate corrective action where necessary
? Quality standards met
? Budget and time constraints met
Planning and Scheduling
Develop and deliver against a project plan through:
? planning and scheduling own and team?s work to meet required timelines and outputs through prioritising activities against daily program and liaison with appropriate project staff
? understanding output requirements and clarifying as appropriate and communicating to team members in a timely manner
? understanding daily work program and directing / allocating staff as appropriate
? ensuring appropriate and necessary equipment is available to enable objectives to be met
Reporting / Records
Ensure comprehensive records are established and maintained to assist decision making, through:
? reporting daily site events on a timely basis
? measuring and reporting on progress against project plans
? Timely, accurate and relevant reports produced
Requirements
? Relevant trade qualification
? Heavy Civils Experience within a similar position
Package
? Basic salary AUZ140K - AUZ155K
? Site allowance: 35-40% of Basic salary
? Superannuation (pension) contribution
? Rosters are generally 16 days onsite followed by 5 days R&R
